While working at my library,
I’ll try to know each book.
Then when a person wishes it,
Together we will look
For story books and picture books
And poetry books, too.
We’ll look until we find the book
That we both think will do.
And should a person lose a book
Or cause a book to tear,
He’ll have to pay a fine, but then
I think that’s only fair.
For books must be for each to use,
For fun and learning, too,
And keeping them in their best shape
Is what I’m going to do.
